As many know West End is undergoing some construction in order make room in the apparatus room and expand our administrative offices. Construction has been going along smoothly and the members are anxiously awating the end of the year completion date.

Companies were dispatched for a reported auto extrication with a vehicle into a building. BC18 went on scene and confirmed that all patients were out of the vehicles and instructed the rescue to split its crew 1/2 to the interior of the structure 1/2 to secure the vehicle. Interior crews reported all damage was confined to the porch roof and there was no structural damage to the rest of the house. Crews helped the homeowner secure the power to the porch and the Boro road crew removed the fallen porch roof off the porch onto the the ground. Crews were back in service within 2 hours.

Companies were dispatched for reports of a trash truck on fire near the hospital. BC 17 and Chief 87 arrived on scene and reported a trash truck with the cab fully involved with extension into the body. Command also reported exposure to a parked vehicle with the engine compartment on fire and possibly extension into the residence the trash truck stopped in front of. Engine 17-1 layed in and went in service with their foam line. Squirt 18 layed in from the opposite direction and also went in service with their foam line. The vehicle and the a bulk of the fire from the trash truck were extinguished within minutes. Crews were in service for an extended period of time with overhauling the contents of the trash truck and keeping the fuel tanks cool. Quakertown borough road crews assisted with clean up so the roadway could be opened for traffic.

Station 76 and Station 26 apparatus along with Squirt 18 were dispatched for reports of smoke coming from a residence that was called in by a passerby. BC 76 arrived on scene and reported smoke showing from the residence most likely coming from the basement. Crews arrived on scene and confirmed a fire in the basement. Engine 26 and Squirt 18 arrived on scene simultaneously and went to work. Engine 26 pulled an 1 3/4" handline while Squirt 18 layed into the scene and forced entry into the basement through the bilco doors and conducted a search and then went in service with positive pressure ventilation once the fire was knocked down by Perkasie crews. The fire was placed under control quickly. Tower 18 was also added to the assignment as a RIT team but were returned due to the fire being knocked down with minimal extension.

The rescue crew stood by with lifequards and a medic crew from St. Lukes while Sam the Magician performed one of his more dangerous magic acts. The Magician was tied up in a straight jacket and then jumped off of the diving board and freed himself while in the deep end of the pool. Crews stood by just in case things went wrong but luckily were not needed.

Rescue 18 went in service in the 58 local this morning after being dispatched to an auto extrication. Reports were of a one vehicle roll over with one occupant trapped. Engine 58 arrived on scene and began stabilizing the vehicle and controlling hazards. Rescue 18 arrived and assisted with stabilization using struts and went in service with flapping the roof while Chemical 17's crew supplemented the Rescue crew. The patient was extricated quickly and the Rescue and Chemical were back in service within 30 minutes.

Companies were dispatched for a car fire with reports of the engine compartment well off. DC 87 and BC 18 arrived and found the bulk of the fire knocked down by security. Squirt 18 was instructed to go in service with one 1 3/4" handline and Engine 17 was instructed to supply the Squirt if needed. The fire was quickly knocked without any extension past the fire wall. Also on scene R18 and E17-1.

Companies while working at the carnival were dispatched for a building fire at the Hobos. C87 went on scene with a fire on the roof and light smoke condition inside. The Tower went on scene shortly after and were assigned to go to the BC corner and make access to the roof. Engine 17s crew advanced a line into the interior while Rescue 58s crew streched a line to the roof. The Tower crew found an electrical box on fire with minimal extension into the soffit. Crews were back in service within the hour after ventilation and some minor overhaul were completed.

Companies were dispatched for a building fire with reports of smoke showing from the building. Chief 87 arrived and reported he had the T 1-11 off on side B of the building with unknown extension to the interior. Tower 18 and Engine 17-1 arrived and went in service with extinguishing the siding and removing the burnt siding. Rescue 58 went to the interior and reported negative extension. Crews were back in service within the hour. Also on the assignment were: E56, L57, TW27, R26, Montco L65 .
