QFD ATTENDS SFD 125th PARADE

Saturday, June 15, 2013  Quakertown Fire Department crews participated in the Sellersville Fire Department 125th anniversary parade this weekend to congratulate them on their achievement.  Crews earned 4 trophies all together:

- 2nd Best Appearing Fire Dept./ Co. 3 or more pieces (Quakertown Fire Department)

- 1st Best Appearing and Equipped Chief’s Vehicle (Chief 87)

- 2nd Best Appearing and Equipped Heavy Rescue (Rescue 18)

- 1st Best Appearing and Equipped Special Service (Chemical 17)

Congratulations to the Sellersville Fire Department on 125 years of dedicated service to your community!

THANK YOU to all of our hard working members that helped prepare for this parade!  You earned it!

NEW FF1 GRADUATES

Monday, June 3, 2013  All the officers would like to congratulate FF Carlton Wehr and Michael Mott on their recent completion of getting their National Fire Fighter 1 certification.  Both of them have showed that hard work and dedication pay off with success.  Keep up the good work.

   


 

RIT ASSIGNMENT IN THE 42 LOCAL

Saturday, June 1, 2013  Rescue 18 was dispatched as the RIT assignment with Engine company 42 for a reported extinguished dwelling.  C49 went on scene with a dwelling that had a fire that started on the exterior of the house and was still burning in the walls.  R18 went on scene and was put to work setting up PPV fans.  Crews were back in the first due within an hour. 

     

 

ST. LUKES PLAYING IT SAFE

Saturday, June 1, 2013  QFD once again was invited to the St. Lukes playing it safe on Saturday.  This year firefighters took kids through the fire prevention trailer and also how to properly use a fire extinguisher. 

     

 

RESCUE GOES TO 49 LOCAL FOR ANOTHER RIT ASSIGNMENT

Wednesday, May 29, 2013  For the second time in the past week the Rescue was called into Nockamixon Twp. with 49s for working 3 car garage fire.  Crews went on scene and took RIT operations until the fire was put under control.  Crews were then put to work with overhaul. 

   
 

BUSY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Sunday, May 26, 2013  Crews were kept busy over the past Memorial Day weekend.  Members participated in the Sellersville Annual parade on Saturday morning and the Quakertown Annual parade on Monday morning.  The tones were dropped 11 times over the weekend consisting of a RIT assignment, ALS accident standby, rubbish fire, and multiple automatic fire alarms.

     

 

RESCUE TAKES RIT ASSIGNMENT IN 49 LOCAL

Friday, May 24, 2013  Station 49 was dispatched for a reported dwelling fire on Haycock Dr. in Nockamixon Twp.  Neighbors reported seeing smoke coming from the roof of the dwelling.   E94 went on scene with a 1 1/2 story dwelling with smoke showing and requested a tanker task force and also a RIT team.  R18 was dispatched as the RIT and was on scene shortly after.  After crews from 40,41,42,and 49's dealt with uses of securing the power to the dwelling the fire was put under control.  The RIT team was then put to work for overhaul and assisting with the County FM's investigation.  Crews were in service for roughly 3 hours.

     

 

NEW RESCUE GOES TO FIRE EXPO

Sunday, May 19, 2013  The new Rescue made its way out to Harrisburg for the annual PA. Firemens Expo.  Thanks to Glick for asking us to bring out our newest rig to show off to new potential buyers. 

   


 

SQUIRT COVERS MONTCO 68

Friday, May 17, 2013  The Squirt was dispatched just after 1pm for a cover assignment at Montgomery County Sta. 68 while they worked at a large barn fire in Gilbertsville's local.  The crew stood by at station 68 for about 3 hours before returning back to the local.

   


 

WORKING CAR FIRE IN THE LOCAL

Tuesday, May 14, 2013  Companies were dispatched just after 4pm for a reported car fire in the area of Sunshine drive in the 18-4 box.  C87 went on scene with a car off to the side of the road well involved .  The Squirt pulled up shortly after and pulled a 1 3/4 attack line and made a quick knock on the fire. E17-1 and T18 assisted with manpower.  Companies were back in house in under an hour.
